New updated American made NIJ 0101.06 Level IV (model #0949) rifle plate is our lightest model in standard SAPI cut and is designed to withstand rugged usage while not compromising the ballistic capability of the plate. The Level IV is multi-hit .30-06 M2AP tested by an NIJ-certified laboratory (NTS) and can defeat M2AP rounds as well 7.62x54R – B 32 API including US Military’s new M855A1 rifle round and many other threats!

After months of hard work, research for the best available materials, development, and many ballistic tests we finally created a special ceramic lineup for our level IV (model #0949) armor which makes it extremely strong without sacrificing weight on the plate. Some other conventional body armor plates using monolithic ceramic strike face which cracks when hit by an M2AP or any other heavy round, producing ‘spiderweb’ cracks across the plate, greatly reducing the plate’s ability to defeat multiple rounds. Some competitors’ body armor plates are rated only for 1 hit of M2AP. 

Due to the construction of the Prime Armor’s plate ceramic cracks only in a 1-1.5 inch radius after the ballistic impact, which makes our plate multi-hit capable and much safer option than other brands. Strike face ceramic covers 100% of the size of the plate, which is another significant difference that sets us apart from other companies whose strike face covers only 80% of the plate.
