After months of hard work, research for the best available materials, development, and many ballistic tests we’ve finally created a special ceramic lineup for our level IV model (#1022) armor which makes it extremely strong without sacrificing weight on the ballistic plate. Some other conventional body armor plates use monolithic ceramic strike face which crack when hit by an M2AP or any other heavy round, producing ‘spiderweb’ cracks across the plate, greatly reducing the plate’s ability to defeat multiple rounds.

Some competitors’ body armor plates are rated only for 1 hit of M2AP. However, there is still a limit on the damage that all body armor can take. In the event, the body armor is shot and the integrity of the ceramic strike face was damaged it is recommended to replace the plate immediately.

Due to the construction of the Prime Armor’s plate ceramic cracks only in a 1-1.5 inch radius after the ballistic impact, which makes our plate multi-hit capable and a much safer option than other brands. Strike face ceramic covers 95% out of the plate size, which is another significant difference that sets us apart from other companies whose strike face covers only 80% of the plate.
